Some random dream themes I had as a kid

My mom was trying to get me to put all my poems in a book and get it published a while back and I typed out the beginning of a book, had 60 pages written and now my computer is trying to convert the file and it's just a bunch of codes now.  I found a notebook with a bunch of my poems and found a dream I had recorded and a page with 3 characters I had in a dream a while back.
The first had a coyote face and had a purple cloak that covered most of his face he had pitch black eyes.
He told me he was going to kill me and said "I don't do introductions, I do death."
The second character was a skeletal figure with a black cloak and kept his hood down.  He had red glowing dots for eyes and told me he was a messenger from "our home dimension."
The third was a beautiful blonde woman who was 5'10'' and about a size 5 and VERY seductive but she transformed into a huge black dragon with blood red eyes.
These all came to me in my sleep and I'm still not too sure what they were about.  I'm still working on that and have been for years.

Dreams dealing with the ex

Every time someone enters a relationship, it leaves an impact on both peoples' lives.  It's almost certain they will have dreams from time to time.  Just because you dream about an ex, doesn't mean you want to get back together or are still in love with the ex.  You have to pay attention to the details.  I am married and had a dream he said he wanted a divorce, I thought about getting back in touch with my ex as soon as he said it and try to get back together with him but after a few minutes, I rethought and my husband and I worked things out.  In the dream, it was telling me to stop thinking about the past and focus on life now.  I spoke on another site to a chick who dreamt that her ex came and took her away while she was out with her walking life fiance.  In the dream she still felt like she loved him.  In that dream, it seems like she'd be still wanting to be with him but it is more likely she is having doubts about being with her fiance or she may be subconsciously be picking up red flags in ways he's similar to her ex.  In retrospect, she may still have feelings for the ex but it's more likely there is a subconscious reason she doesn't want to be with him.
If you ever have a dream about an ex, never stress out and think that it's trying to tell you you still love them, try to find the deeper meaning behind it.  Chances are it's trying to tell you to stop thinking about the past or stop regretting something about the past.  Other times it maybe telling you you may want to reevaluate the relationship you're in currently.

Dreams after having a Preemie

I belong to a parents and friends of preemies group and one of the girls had a dream dealing with being pregnant and having a healthy full term baby and being able to breastfeed.  She thought it was her mind saying it's ready for another baby.  That maybe the case but to me, it sounded like she was dreaming about what she hopes happens with her next pregnancy, what could happen or how she wished her old pregnancy went.
When I had just had my daughter, I had multiple dreams about her having a twin sister they missed who was born healthy on the due date.  Unfortunately, she disappeared and I only had the healthy baby.  I was afraid it meant I was going to lose her but now, as she's getting older, she's no longer as sick and since she came home from the hospital, she's a new baby.  The dream was my subconscious telling me she'd be ok and her twin was who she is going to grow into.
Dreams about healthy, full term babies when you give birth to a preemie or a sick baby is common.  A lot of it is insecurity and some is out of sadness or even depression.  Sometimes, it deals with your mind trying to comfort you and even show you how the baby is going to turn out.  I saw a dying, decayed baby coming at me with it's hand out reaching out to me asking me for help for a long time as a guilt induced hallucination for a long time after she was born before we knew for a fact she would be fine and grow out of her health problems.  Guilt is usually the biggest factor behind a lot of post NICU baby dreams, along with hopeful thoughts about future kids and scenarios your mind plays of healthy full term babies.

Dreaming during pregnancy

  • When women get pregnant, they usually have a lot of crazy and sometimes bad dreams.  Dreams during pregnancy are usually caused by either hormonal changes or by insecurities.  I have had 2 recurring themes and after waking up crying I did some research and found that they are actually very common during pregnancy.
1. I chugged a bottle of hard liquor and all I had to say about it was "it's only this once, it'll be ok."  I had that one 3 or 4 times.
2. My husband got tired of my growing stomach and found a lover on the side.  Each time I walked in on them and ended up having to raise Diana (our future daughter) alone.
The first one is usually caused by a fear that you will do something to mess your baby up.  The second is caused by an insecurity of your husband or SO leaving you over the changes of your body and the coming responsibility.
Other common themes:
Baby being born another species, alien etc.
Baby coming out demonic.
Doing drugs, drinking and other types of behavior that can cause the baby to be damaged.
Futuristic dreams of a happy family or bad family.
Dreams showing fear of the upcoming responsibilities.
And other dreams dealing with excitement, fear and insecurities.

Brief intro to colors

Colours also have different and varied meanings.  The colours can be emotions or symbolic. Some are religious (purple means royalty and in Christianity it symbolizes Jesus' power as king)
Red- sensuality and romantic feelings, pure sexuality, love, hate, anger, lust and passion
Blue- sad, melancholy or down also the masculine aspect of oneself
Green- money, life, vitality, new beginnings or growing resources
Brown- fertility, plans coming to play, gain (financial)
White- purity, innocence, childlike mindsets or clean slate (white is the lack of all colour)
Black- negativity, unknown, fear, evil force, stranger or powerful sexuality
Pink- puppy love, femininity, love in more of a childlike way or playful flirting etc.
Not all colours are listed but the main ones that have strongest meanings.
I will post more later on colours.

Some recurrent themes from my past

Ever since I was young, I had a recurrent character in several of my dreams.  It was a skeleton.  He was not a friendly creature either.  Everytime he showed his face, something traumatic would happen.  It lasted for years until the Grim Reaper showed his face in a dream, took him away and apologized for him.  To date, I have no idea who the supernatural stalker was or if it was an omen and the events just played themselves out as of a year ago.  I truly think he was a real demonic spirit who would cause problems and the real spirit of death finally tracked him down to take him to the next life because I haven't dealt with him since and dealing with death felt so real.  Not in a bad way but in a finally can rest at ease type of way.
The first dream I can remember went like this
I was talking to my best friend and she told me about how she had gotten raped (red flag one).  Then it cut to a new scene, at my house (different house from where I lived).  My dog was barking (dog barking in a dream means bad news soon to come) and I went up 3 flights of stairs (each flight meaning a year).  When I got up to the 3rd flight (third year) I went into a bedroom.  My dog was staring at something under the bed.  I looked down and saw a black umbrella (black- the unknown or the feared in this dream) It turned into a skull head (my stalker) and twisted around laughing.  My dog got pulled under the bed (meaning I was going to lose something important to me).  I was frightened and woke  up.
It meant that I was going to lose something important (my dog being pulled under the bed and me not getting him back) in the span of 3 years (3 floors of the house).  Something unknown (the black umbrella) but bad was going to happen (dog barking) in the 3rd year.
I had been in an abusive relationship (Just got into one shortly after the dream.  It lasted 2 years and on the third year after the dream, right after he and I broke up I ended up getting raped.  He had convinced me I was worthless and would never find anyone who would care as much as he did and I lost all my self worth, values and respect when he and I were together.  (the loss of something important).  Since that dream, I have decided to pay more attention to dreams because it told me exactly what happened those years.
The final dream that he appeared in was stranger.
I was talking to my parents and we were talking about something serious.  The skeleton kept appearing and disappearing and threatened to take someone.  I freaked out and started screaming at him.  He laughed and disappeared for a few seconds and my parents couldn't see him.  They thought I was crazy.  They left and he came back.  I ordered him to leave.  He wouldn't but then the grim reaper showed up and took him.  He looked at me and said: "sorry, he's gone for good now."  I asked who he was and he told me:  "He's a spirit who wouldn't go to the next life, but I forced him through so you're safe now."  He smiled at me and left.

I have not dealt with the skeleton since then.  When I woke from that dream, instead of terror, I felt relief.  I almost felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from my back.  Those are not the only dreams that he was in but those are the most memorable.

Keep checking back as I update with further personal dreams and further meanings from my personal research and experience.

Introduction to my studies taken off my dream blog

I have been studying dreams and dreaming for around 18 years. I am 25 years old, yes, I was around the age of 7 when I started. I was writing a book called "Dreams Become Reality"  but that was put on hold for a bit and also planning on opening a store with the same name.

There are many people who have studied the psychological and parapsychological reasons behind dreaming. It has been a popular divination method for centuries. I started becoming aware of my dreams when I was about 7 and wanted to know what they meant. I have, since then, developed my own theories of what certain symbols can mean. I will later be putting some of my symbols up and what I have found them in years of personal research to best mean. I can understand what Sigmund Freud believed and he is, to date, one of my favourite minds to study.

As I am saying in the introduction to my book: "Dreams Become Reality," the only person who can truly know the meaning of your dreams is yourself. Books and experts can give their best educated guesses but in the end, only you really know what each dream symbol means to you personally.

Some numbers have very different but highly symbolic meanings:
1- Alone, solo, independent, the god, the masculine side of your nature and the first or number 1 (best)
2- duel, pair, set, couple or second best. Also the feminine side of your nature or the goddess
3- 3rd wheel, extra, one in the way, trio, or even the 3 fold law (what you do comes back to you 3-fold)
4- complete set (four walls in a room, four sides in a rectangle or square or diamond)
6- evil, the mark (666 in Christianity), demonic, near completion or near perfection
7- completion, the 7th day of rest, rest, relaxation, perfection
9- the divine number, divinity, spirituality, spiritual sensitivity
13- another very spiritual number, basically the same as 9. Also could mean bad luck or an omen.

They are some of the most common numbers in dreams but, like I said, the only one who truly knows what your dreams mean is you. I am writing from personal expirience and my friends' and familys' dreams.

I'm going to start writing more of my personal dream symbols in here and pretty soon this page will be another version of the very diverse dream dictionary.

If at any time, you have a dream and would like to share it, feel free to send it to me and I'll interpret it for you.

Article I wrote for a newsletter about Oracle cards and Tarot

If you're familiar with divination, you have probably heard of the tarot.  How familiar are you with the oracle, though?  Oracle cards are similar to the tarot but they don't have all the numerological, astrological or elemental meanings the tarot have. They have the picture and name and the interpretation is up to your intuition.  They do not have the negative (inverted) meanings like the tarot do, they are mostly positive in nature.  Due to the mostly positive meanings, many people consider them to be too fluffy but they do come in handy.
My brother and I were hanging out at the bus transit playing with my deck and a homeless man came up to us crying.  I did a small reading for him, most of his family lived out of state and he was severely down on his luck, he left us laughing and happier so the oracle does help in situations like that.
Oracle decks come in as many sizes and varieties as tarot so it helps to look at as many decks as you can to match your energy and see what deck most calls to you to pick the best deck for you. To use them, you use the same layouts you would use for the tarot.  You can go online or read the interpretation book to find the layout that works for your question, or you can just make a layout up.  I normally do either a four card draw then a fifth to summarize the reading, another personal favorite is the three card past, present and future draw.  Once you have your deck and have selected the layout, you ask your question, shuffle and lay the cards out.  You can either lay them face down and flip as you go or lay them face up and interpret how you see fit.  You can read the book that comes with the deck, but those are guidelines and its really up to how you read them personally.
Oracle decks are perfect for people who want a simpler method to start reading tarot.  They help you practice with interpretation and help you getting in touch with your own intuition.
